One of the world's largest producer of household cleaning products and a major producer of consumer healthcare and personal products sold in over 180 countries, has invested in a low cost PlantRun production display system for its high volume liquids and aerosol manufacturing site at Derby, UK.
The system monitors production to provide live performance data (including OEE) which is displayed on large overhead screens in the production area. The screens display finished units per shift and hour, units last hour as well as OEE for the shift and last hour.
A signal from the production line determines the number of product packs produced. The pack size of either 6 or 12 individual products is entered using a screen based form at run start to calculate the total units produced.
Due to the length of the production lines the information is duplicated along the line on two screens. The system also provides a trend display giving real-time and historic graphing of finished units over any selected time period.
Displaying live production information in the production area gives instant feedback for staff on how they are performing. This informs and motivates staff, promoting competition between lines and enables goal setting.
